Dr. David Crockett Graham
On March 21,1884 in Green Forest, Arkansas, David Crockett Graham, who was named after Davy Crockett, was born. He came into this world during the end of the horse-n-buggy days, had a life of Blessings, personal tragedies, professional fulfillment, experienced true drama, did research on and in China, and died in 1961, four months after President Kennedy announced the goal of landing a man on the moon by the end of that decade..
He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in 1908, and in 1910 married Alicia-May Morey. Together they sailed for China in 1911, a month-long trip, to begin a life as a Baptist missionary, but also became a respected archaeologist and anthropologist. He raised a family, brought many to Jesus, built new schools, earned doctorates, made archeological discoveries, studied the many different cultures, brought Pandas back to the United States, and wrote many books and pamplets about his research and discoveries. To this day, the Smithsonian Institution bookstore carries his valuable articles and books.
